Do You Have a Wall Furnace?

Many New Mexico homes are still equipped with wall furnaces.  The word is that they don’t heat as well and that they are noisy.  What are the walls like…is it a “shared wall” or an outside one?  Also, consider the windows.  A single-pane window may be considered inefficient for maximum comfort this winter.

Naturally, your thermostat has a great deal to do with it all.  If you keep it at 70 degrees, instead of 67 for example, you WILL lose heat through that wall!  Outside the temperature may be below freezing.  Others claim that wall furnaces do not make any more noise and are just as reliable as forced air or a floor furnace.
