Warning, Warning, Carbon Monoxide Detected!

You need to know that Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is poisonous to humans. We two legged mammals cannot tell when we are around it, but it is very dangerous and potentially deadly! Your carbon monoxide detector is a safety device that may be a lifesaver.

Here are a few things that you should know about them…

1.  They provide an early warning of poisonous gas.

2.  Carbon monoxide may be produced by any fuel-burning device.

3.  The alarms should be installed on every level of your home.

4.  They have shelf-lives of five to seven years.

That is where Daylight Electric and HVAC comes in. How old are your CO detectors? They will replace them for you if their time has come. Even if you have taken exceptional care of your carbon monoxide detectors do not hesitate! If you live in Belen area keep your CO detectors up to date. We All Know How Dangerous it can Be.

Carbon monoxide…the hidden killer, that is!  Carbon monoxide is deadly because it’s so hard to detect without a carbon monoxide sensor.  Once it passes into your lungs, it binds with your red blood cells and starves your body of oxygen.  Does that sound ominous enough to insist on having your Belen area home tested for it?

What symptoms are you expecting with carbon monoxide poisoning?  Common symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include intense headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and weakness of the joints.  Disorientation and unconsciousness can even occur when CO2 reaches levels of 150 parts per million.

If you suspect this silent killer in your home contact Daylight Electric and Appliance ASAP!  They are a professional carbon dioxide testing company in the Albuquerque area out of Belen New Mexico.  Do not trifle with CO2…call Daylight Electric and Appliance immediately to run a test at (505) 864-3980.

Silent, but Deadly.

Make up your own interpretation of that above line, however in this case it refers to Carbon Monoxide…known to chemists by the moniker CO.  It is a gas you cannot see or smell which is produced by the incomplete processing of solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels, as well as appliances fueled with oil, liquefied petroleum, natural gas, coal, kerosene, or wood.

Here are some signs that you have a carbon monoxide leak in your home –

1.  Heavy condensation on the windows where an appliance is installed
2.  Brownish stains around a leaking appliance
3.  Air that smells as if something is burning
4.  No upward draft in the chimney flue
5.  Solid fuel fires burn more slowly
6.  The pilot light keeps flickering and going out

The first line of defense against carbon monoxide poisoning is making sure that your home’s heating equipment is being inspected on an annual basis.  In Belen and the Albuquerque area that’s easy.  Just call Daylight Electric and Appliance at (505) 864-3980.  They will do a full inspection and help keep your family safe…now that’s having 2020 vision in the new year.
